Electronics for Artists

Former Project Runway contestant Diana Eng who wowed us all with her futuristic fashions is now building her own innovative business and gracing us with her stunning wearable accessories.

Integrating electronic and many other forms of wearable technology into her designs Eng gained many skills during her time studying as an undergraduate at Rhode Island School of Design which have helped make her as successful as she is today.

The highlights of her latest line shown in new York are two pieces called “ Smart Scarves.”

The first of which is made up of soft pale blue cotton upon snowflakes that appear under temperatures of 65 degrees Fahrenheit: the lower the temperature the bigger and more prominent the snowflakes appear.

The Second is a deep violet web-like design, more suitable for the spring. Using the Fibonacci Number Pattern, a renound sequence of numbers where each number equals the sum of two proceeding numbers. The beautiful spiral Scarf has been made using a 3D knitting machine and the results are stunning.

We love Eng’s exciting and creative designs and look forward to seeing a lot more of her in the not so distant Future.
